There are 9 picturesque beaches to choose from throughout Yamba and Angourie offering plenty of ideal locations to set-up the beach umbrella, roll out the towel and watch the kids enjoy the sun. A few favourites being; Main beach with its ocean pool and surf Life Saving Club. Enjoy great fishing and safe swimming at Whiting Beach which is mostly flat as it is situated at the mouth of the Clarence River. Pippie Beach is the longest beach in Yamba, perfect for an afternoon stroll. Experience the natural beauty of the 4 beaches at Angourie which are all surrounded Yuraygir National Park.

Yamba is one of Australia’s most highly renowned surfing towns with plenty of beaches to choose from. From beach break fun for beginners to the iconic Angourie Surfing Reserve located only minutes from Angourie Resort for the more experienced surfer.
For first timers wanting to try their hand at surfing while you’re in Yamba, the Yamba-Angourie Surf School offer lessons for any experience level for individuals or groups.

The numerous headlands and long beaches offer plenty of opportunities for those who wish to have a more relaxed fishing holiday. The ocean along the break wall is a favourite place for big Jewfish, feeding on schools of fish as they move to sea. Fishing licences can be purchased from the Blue Dolphin Service Station.
Reel Time Fishing charters specialise in deep sea fishing expeditions and operate 12 months of the year. Tours are available on request every day, weather permitting with charters run out of the port of Yamba.

The signposted walking route which can be up to 65km long, extends from the coastal villages of Angourie to Red Rock and passes through the villages of Brooms Head, Minnie Water and Wooli. Discover rare wildlife, idyllic picnic spots and secluded beaches. Enjoy magnificent views across a wide range of landscapes while you walk through forests and along beaches, rivers, rock platforms and headlands. Encounter wonderful wild flowers and fauna, and if you are lucky you might sight the migrating whales.
