Yamba Real Wedding – Online Spark to Romance in the Park

Pete and Tanya met online through eHarmony. On their first date the sparks flew and soon after they officially called themselves a “couple” . Their mutual connection was so unique and special, and something Pete wanted to pursue forever. On a gorgeous sunny day in the Robel Parklands near Brisbane, Pete proposed. He had packed a romantic picnic brunch and Tanya was excited for a great morning with her soon-to-be fiance. During the picnic Pete showed Tanya a photo storybook that he created with memories of the their time together. After the last page Pete got down on one knee and proposed.

Why did you choose Angourie Resort?
We had looked at multiple venues in Brisbane and hadn’t been overly impressed. We decided to check out the resort while visiting Pete’s parents. The facilities and location were a massive step up from anything in the same price range in the Brisbane area. The ability to have all our friends and family in the one place was amazing and really added to the ‘feel’ of the wedding.

Describe your day and how you both felt
Before the wedding we were both excited. Pete went for a surf with a couple of mates and Tanya had a great morning with her bridesmaids while hair and makeup was done. Pete got a bit nervous while waiting for everything to happen. Tanya couldn’t wait to get going!
The ceremony was really relaxed and we really enjoyed the “getting married” part. It was an amazing feeling having all our closest friends and family there.

Did you have a theme?
We didn’t really have a theme. We just tried to keep everything simple. Tanya and I made the wooden plant boxes that decorated the tables at the reception.

What was the stand out moment?
Having all our guests stay at the resort. It meant we got to see a lot of everyone and it really created a fun vibe.
