Travel Plans after Lockdown

The last year and a half have been rough for a lot of us, and is there a better way to relax than by taking some time off and going on vacation? Travel has been restricted for a long time, so if you’re itching to get back out into the world and start travelling again, you’re probably already making travel plans for after lockdown. With the world opening back up, it’s time to start considering where you want to go next, so here are some of our suggestions.

New South Wales

NSW is located on the east coast of Australia and is most well-known for its coastal cities and national parks. Whether you’re looking for a city holiday or something more rural, you can find it here. Visit Sydney and check out the Sydney opera house and Bondi Beach or one of the museums and galleries the city holds.

If you want to enjoy a peaceful experience in nature with some beautiful landscapes, try visiting one of the smaller towns scattered across the state. For example, beautiful Yamba features some incredible beaches and has plenty of places to visit and things to do, including river markets, festivals, golf clubs, spas and river kayaking. A holiday here can be as relaxing or as adventurous as you want it to be – bring the kids for an active trip, or come to take in the beautiful views and relax at a day spa.

The Gold Coast

If you’re planning to visit some new destinations after lockdown, you should consider the Gold Coast. This region in Queensland is perfect for a wide range of holidays, from nature trips to family vacations. Want to go surfing? The Gold Coast has all the best surf spots. Want to take the children on an adventure? You can find Dreamworld, Sea World, Wet’n’Wild and other theme parks here. Young people are sure to enjoy the nightlife of the city.

Further inland, there are the hiking trails of Lamington National Park, Springbrook National Park and many other national parks, perfect for a hiking or camping trip, or for anyone looking to visit one of our country’s beautiful rainforests. This is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Australia because of all these locations and the comfortable subtropical climate. City trips or camping in nature, everything is possible on the Gold Coast.

New Zealand

If you’d like to venture outside of Australia, you only have to look to our neighbour to find a great destination for your post-lockdown trip. New Zealand is only a short flight away and features a wide range of different destinations for all kinds of travellers.

Trek mountains and visit national parks, glaciers, caves and beaches, or stick to one of the major cities like Auckland, Wellington and Queensland. Here you can take in beautiful museums and art galleries, have fun at amusement parks, see animals at the zoo or aquarium, and even bungee jump from the Auckland Harbour Bridge. New Zealand has a beautiful landscape with breathtaking views and plenty of opportunities for adventure, as well as cities full of culture and history.
