Yamba Real Wedding – A Perfectly Romantic Day

Ben and Casey’s sea-side ceremony was held adjacent to the lighthouse on Pilot Hill in Yamba. On a beautiful September’s day, with Yamba’s Main Beach as their backdrop. The couple said their “I-DO’s” framed by a signature floral wreath created by the talented Mel at Wildflower Wondering’s in Yamba. We can’t help but admire the proudest smile on Ben’s face as his bride walks towards him. And the feeling is clearly reciprocated. Read on as Casey tells us how they met, where he proposed, and what it was that made them choose Angourie Resort. Relive the magic by watching the Luna Loca Studio’s film below.

How did the two of you meet? Please tell us your story

We knew of each other through mutual friends but never actually met. One day Ben added me on Facebook and we started chatting briefly, which then turned into every day, and before we knew it we were arranging to meet in Yamba. Two weeks later Ben asked me to be his girlfriend and almost six years later his fiance!

How did he/she propose?

Ben proposed at the Onsen Hot Pools in Queesntown, NZ. It was just the two of us so it was extra special and romantic, overlooking the snow-capped mountains. As you do, I made Ben take a photo of me in the hot pool looking out at the view, he was taking a really long time so I started telling him to hurry up and questioning him as to what was taking so long. Little did I know he was trying to get the ring from his bag. When I got out of the hot pool to switch and take his photo, he proposed!

Why did you choose Angourie Resort?

Our wedding was very simple with lots of greenery and natural colours. The Angourie Resort’s presentation and ‘feel’ perfectly suited our wedding. We also liked that there was a wet weather back-up (if required) and that we could stay at the resort afterwards, rather than having to find a way home after a big night. Not only was it convenient for us, but also for our guests.

Did you have a theme?

We didn’t really have a theme. We had a lot of greenery with a combination of white, nude, acrylic and timber to create a natural and simple look.

Describe your day and how you both felt

We were both excited and couldn’t wait to become husband and wife! We were also both very nervous as being the center of attention is not something either of us love but as soon as we saw each other at the ceremony all our nerves went away, and we couldn’t stop smiling! Our day couldn’t have been any more perfect than it was, and we wish we could re-live it over and over again!

What was the stand out moment for you?

Our favourite moment would easily have to be the ceremony. Our ceremony represented us as a couple perfectly and there was no better feeling than seeing each other at the opposite end of the aisle. We will both never forget the happiness and emotion of that moment. It was also a special feeling being able to share our commitment to each other with our closest friends and family.
